Spencer Hughes opens up Speedweeks with Super Bowl of Racing at Golden Isles
After cold weather pushed back the opener to Friday evening, Spencer Hughes and the JCM Motorsports team checked into Golden Isles Speedway (Waynesville, Ga.) with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to kick off Speedweeks.
After missing the mark during qualifying, Hughes made up a few spots in his heat race before coming up just short in the B-Main for the $12,000-to-win opener.
Inclement weather and an unfavorable forecast forced track and series officials to cancel the final two rounds of the Super Bowl of Racing on Saturday and Sunday.
