JCM Motorsports and Spencer Hughes tackle Gateway Dirt Nationals
Making another appearance at the Gateway Dirt Nationals, Spencer Hughes rolled into The Dome at America's Center (St. Louis, Mo.) with the JCM Motorsports team on Friday afternoon for his preliminary night.
Out of 66 Late Models signed in, Hughes qualified 11th-quickest in his group and finished fourth in his heat race which relegated him to a B-Main. By charging forward three spots to finish runner-up, Spencer was able to make the $5,000-to-win preliminary feature and finished 17th.
Starting fifth in his qualifier on Saturday, Hughes only made up one spot which placed him in the Win and You're In race. Spencer passed five drivers but still came up a few spots short of making the $30,000-to-win finale.
