JCM Motorsports scores strong runner-up outing in Bad Boy 98 at Batesville Motor Speedway
After motor issues disrupted their Illinois Speedweek plans, Spencer Hughes and the JCM Motorsports team made the decision to head to Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Ark.) on Friday evening for the first night of the Bad Boy 98.
With 41 Comp Cams Super Late Models checked in, Hughes locked himself into the A-Main through his heat before spinning early in the feature which ultimately ended his night.
Looking for a better outing on Saturday evening, Spencer stopped the clock third-quickest in his group before finishing runner-up in his heat race. Rolling off fifth in the $12,000-to-win finale, Hughes slowly made up three spots in 68-laps to secure the runner-up position. He trailed race-winner Stormy Scott while Payton Freeman joined them on the podium.
