Wil Herrington charges forward in Alabama Gang 100 at Talladega Short Track
Friday saw Will Herrington enter his Torco Advanced Lubricants No. 19M into competition with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) for the two-day Alabama Gang 100.
With the field split into three qualifying groups, Herrington caught a rut during his lap which forced him to start at the tail of his preliminary feature. In the evening's $4,000-to-win feature, Wil moved forward five spots to finish 16th.
For Saturday's $50,000-to-win main event, Wil started the night by making up three spots in his heat race before transferring to the A-Main through a Last Chance Showdown. In the 60-lap Alabama Gang 100, Herrington flew through the field and passed thirteen competitors on his way to an 11th-place finish. Wil was the recipient of the Fox Factory Hard Charger of the race.
