Herrington wins Alabama State Championship finale at EAMS

Wil had a busy weekend, entering all three nights of the Comp Cams Series at the Magnolia Motor Speedway Thursday, Friday and Saturday before capping off the weekend on Sunday at the East Alabama Motor Speedway for the Alabama State Championship event.

Thursday, at the Mag, Wil qualified 9th then raced from 5th up to 3rd in his heat race before being credited with a 20th place finish in the night’s feature event. Friday, he qualified 7th, ran 9th in his heat race and then finished 6th in the b-main, ending his night early. Saturday, he qualified 2nd overall, won his heat race from the pole and then went on to start on the outside of the second row and race to a runner up finish when the checkered flag flew.

Sunday, at EAMS, he was the top overall qualifier and started on the pole for the $4,000 to win feature event and raced to his first ever win at the track in the process.
